Musical Theater Tryouts

Aspen and Brooklynn tried out for the Junior High Musical Theater class together.  Aspen sang "I know things now" from into the woods. She had fun working with her voice teacher on the song, and was not really too nervous because she knew she would be singing in front of people she didn't know.  The thing she was most nervous about was the fact that her voice teacher told her she should dress up for the audition and act while she sang.  She was not about to do that, until I went to the school to sign her up for tryouts and asked some of the Junior high kids if they thought that she should and they were really enthusiastic about it. So long story short, she decided she would do it, and the night before I was up late making a cape out of red sheets!! But it turned out cute, she looked adorable, she did amazing, and both her and her friend made it so we were SO EXCITED!!

Happy Birthday Cooper!

Super Cooper finally turned 4.  This kid is so fun! He is just such a crazy and funny little guy! He loves his action figures! He will play with them all by himself for hours! So we celebrated super hero style! All his super friends joined in the fun :) (The kids dressed up and set out all his action figures too. )

 Matt and I took him to see the new avenger movie!  He was so stinkin cute!  He really doesn't love these movies, he only enjoys them when the super heroes are dressed up in their costumes and fighting.  So he he really prefers the avenger cartoons. But we took him to it anyway and he was hilarious!  He would randomly shout out "This is SO BORING!" during really quite and calm parts, and then the second they started fighting he would start cheering.  At one point in the movie Iron Man asked "Does anyone have some orange juice?" and Cooper shouted "I do!" He got more than a few chuckles throughout the movie, and Matt and I thoroughly enjoyed being with him!

Last Day of School

Kinda crazy how time flys!! I swear, this school year was a blur! 

I survived my first time doing a joy school.

Lola made it through kindergarten. She is so stinkin cute! I love what a miniature little thing she is!  Her teacher did the cutest little graduation for the parents where they danced, sang, recited poems, got awards, and ate refreshments.  Lola's award was the most creative and her teacher said "I don't know if you guys know but Lola loves Cheetahs!" I thought it was adorable that her teacher knew about that little obsession, then again when I walked in there Lola was on all fours growling, so maybe everybody knew about that. :)

Lola said "Mom, take a picture of me with Colby." Then she went and grabbed him and told him her Mom wanted a picture of him... Wow, tricky huh! I laughed pretty hard.

I'm that Mom that walks around on the last day of school and takes a million pictures!  Luckily Aspens class didn't seem to mind at all!

My little orphan Scotty!  I really tried to force him to dress nice for school, and it was a battle!  Everyday he would come down in soccer clothes and I would send him back up to put on school clothes.  As it got warm though, I started getting lazy, and he took full advantage of that and made it to school looking quite homeless.  I'm sure he didn't make it there without shoes on though... He must have taken them off in class for some reason. Yikes!

Zoe survived 5th grade.  For me personally 5th grade was THE WORST! But for Zoe it was easy-peasy! Just Kidding-- Zoe survived 4th grade... Teresa brought to my attention that I wrote this and I was like... "Were they not in 5th grade last year?" That's pretty lame of me I know!  For some reason I kept forgetting which grade her and Scott were in this year.

Chase got suspended for his last week of school... Long story short, he flooded the school bathroom, just for fun. No peer pressure involved.  He got home from school one day and I asked him how it had gone and he said "Oh, ya, it was a pretty bad day..." Then he told me this big long story and at the end of it he said "So, I know I'm busted! Like definitely grounded.  So I was just thinking that for the last week of school I could be your little slave.  But maybe instead of a slave that you don't like, and that you're mean to, maybe I could be your slave that you like!" I couldn't tell if he was being serious or not, because he was just so honestly telling me this whole story, and he was being so funny about it.  Turns out, he was serious.  I got a call the next day from the principal telling me about his suspension and also they wanted him to pay $25 for the janitors time.  So he did end up being my little slave, for an entire month actually.  Although, I was very disappointed in him for doing that I have to say It was rather nice having a slave! I called him "Farm Boy" and used him tirelessly for a full month! 

On the last day of school we played all day! We were so excited to be done, and had a major celebration!! I love summer!

6th grade graduation

I missed out on this experience with Chase, they didn't have a 6th grade graduation at his charter school.  So this was a first for me.  It was super cute and Fun!  Aspen actually sang a solo, which is really brave of her!  Her and her friends made up a new version to the "Cups" song for their 6th grade talent show and the teachers liked it so much that they asked them of they would sing it again for the graduation.  She did so good!

Soccer

We had the rainiest soccer season!! I think 6 out of the 7 games were freezing and wet.  Scott was on a team with 4 of his classmates.  So his teacher came out one Saturday and sat through the pouring rain to watch them, how sweet is that!!

 On the night before Lola's last soccer game she told me she hated soccer.  I told her I had no idea, and she said "Well, I don't hate it,  I love it actually. But I hate playing in the rain when I'm freezing cold!!  So if it's raining tomorrow I'm NOT GOING!!" I think that was the first sunny game of the season :) Matt coached her team this season.  They were the Flaming Cheetahs!  They were adorable, and they seriously slaughtered every single team they played.  They were SO good!

Aspen was on a team with her buddy Lexi.

Zoe and Chase played too, So I had to steal some pictures off of Teresa's blog for Zoe and I have nothing from Chase, I think the pictures of them must be on Matt's phone.  Matt and I are seriously like ships passing in the night on Soccer Saturdays!  We divide and conquer, taking turns watching different kids.  Zoe's games always conflicted with Lola's so towards the end of the season I coached a few of Lola's games so Matt could see Zoe play.  The flaming cheetah's like to do a somersault after they score  a goal, but only if Matt does one first... So when I coached there were no somersaults. if I were really cool I would have just whipped them out like Matt does, but I really don't think that would have been pretty.  Little Cooper was part of Lola's team.  He would practice with them each week and we even let him go out and play for a few minutes each game.  He's such a stud!
