Happy Valentines Day

From our little Love Monkeys... (Chase was already at school when I took this picture but he hopes you had a great day too!)

Chase turns 8... (a while ago)

This post is a couple weeks late, but better late than never... Chase had a birthday on February 10th. He had such a fun day! I woke him up early and took him to IHOP for breakfast, just the two of us.Then we came home and made his Birthday shirt. We did this last year for the first time and I hadn't really thought about doing it this year but he was expecting it. He loves it because he carries a marker around with him and all day long people crowd around him and beg him to sign his shirt. He feels like a star all day long. So I think from here on out it will be a tradition.Matt had the honors of being the first one to sign his shirt!Aside from taking treats into his class the rest of the day was kind of business as usual. He came home from school and went right to scouts. He came home from scouts and went right to basketball. After basketball we all went to smart cookie for a little birthday treat. On Saturday was the "real" party. We went with our families to Chuckee Cheese. This was what he wanted to do, you would think he was getting a little to old for this but apparently not. All the kids had a great time. We bought hundreds of tokens so they could play games to their little hearts content.
The kids found this game that they could win 50 tickets at if they stuck their token in at just the right time. And they spent a lot of their time here.Which means the adults spent a lot of their time, folding up tickets.Aspen was the first one to win the jackpot. She was just standing by the machine and decided to randomly stick her token in. The bell starts ringing, and the tickets start pouring out and all the kids were freaking out... "Aspen, what did you do, how do we play..." She had no idea, she wasn't even paying attention when she did it. But she was excited to get the tickets.Chase is a goofy kid when it comes to desert, he hates frosting and therefore he doesn't like cupcakes and he doesn't like cake. So for his "Birthday Cake" he wanted plain old brownies.
I think it's safe to say the most exciting presents of the day were his Bee bee gun from Rick and Deb. And the frogs from Jordan and Josh (I don't know if excited is the word I would use to describe how I felt about these gifts but he definitely loved them both.)Thank you very much to our wonderful Families for taking time out of their busy Saturday to come celebrate with us, and make Chase's day so fun and memorable. We love you!

Out of the mouths of Babes... (Or Zoe Lynn in this case)

I actually have 2 posts I should really be doing right now instead of this one, but they both require me uploading and editing pictures (which I can't for the life of me seem to find time to do). So until I get to that, this will have to do.

The other day our bunny Bubbles had her babies. When baby bunnies are born they don't have any hair, but their skin is the color that their hair will be when they eventually get it. For example if they are going to be gray they have gray skin, black is for black skin, and if they are going to be white then they have pink skin. Anyway, I brought them in to show the kids. There were three of them, and they are all going to be white. When I showed Zoe she was so surprised and said "Oh my Goodness! She had 3 little piggies" We laughed pretty hard. I love that she thinks that is even a possibility that our rabbit could give birth to pigs.

Then tonight I was putting the kids to bed and Zoe asked "Mom, when we have our new baby are we going to give away Scott?" I started laughing, Chase on the other hand was hysterical. I told her "No" and very confused she asked "it's okay to have 2 babies?" I told her "Yes" and she said "But, if we keep Scott who is going to hold Lola Jean?"

And the winner is...

Yep, we're having another little Girl! We are so excited! And Matt gave me a big Fat "I told you so". I don't know why I haven't been blessed with any insight on the gender of my babies, but Matt on the other hand has been POSITIVE that it was a girl the whole time.

I love having an ultrasound, it always just kind of hits me like ... Holy Cow! There is really a little person in my stomach. I can't really wrap my brain around it until I see it, and then it feels real. What an amazing thing it is to be pregnant! And even though it has it's many cons like being sick for months, getting chubby, and feeling rather emotional... I still feel grateful that I get to be the one to do it. I just can't get over what a miracle it is.

We are going to name her Lola Jean after both of our Grandmas. We have loved that name for a long time so we are excited to finally be able to use it.

Our little Lola is growing perfectly and all her organs are there and functioning the way they are supposed to. We feel very Blessed!

Look Who's Two...

Our little guy turned Two on Sunday. He is just the cutest kid ever, but he was extra adorable all day long. In fact for the whole week before his birthday he would say... "Almost Scott's Birthday? Make a Birthday, and Blow the fire..." Which roughly translated means "Is it almost Scott's Birthday so we can make a Birthday cake, and blow out the candles" Since he was so excited for the candles we put some in his donut for breakfast. And it turns out that it is a good thing that we did since it is the only picture we got of him eating a "Birthday Cake". He was way to distracted by all his presents that night to want anything to do with his cake. I got him to come over and blow out the candles but that was it, he didn't stick around long enough to try any.He was so cute opening his presents, He would open one up and then take a little trip around the room to give everyone a hug and tell them "Thank-you". Presents took a long time this way, but it was so cute. My favorite part though was when he unwrapped a box of treats from Uncle Rick and said.." Oh I like these.. I really like these" he then went around the room to give everyone a hug and told everyone "I like these". It was so cute!Happy Birthday Scooter... We Love You!!

Gone but not Forgotten...

We took some balloons to Bj's grave for his Birthday. It's times like these where it really hits me that he is gone, and not just on some long vacation. I think sometimes I half expect him to walk downstairs and join us for family dinner. I sure miss talking with him, and hearing him laugh, and seeing him play with the kids.

When BJ came to visit me in the hospital after I had Scotland, I told him sorry for inducing myself (with castor oil) and making it so he had to share his Birthday, and he said "Are you kidding me, February 7th is a great day to be born, and sharing a birthday with this little stud will be an Honor"... I'm sure as Scott grows up and hears all the funny stories about his Uncle BJ he will be the one saying..." Sharing a Birthday with this Stud is an Honor!"

Happy Birthday Uncle BJ!!

Sick, Sick, Sick...

So I have been meaning to update the blog with our little Scotland's Birthday pictures all week long but have been to busy being sick, and taking care of little sick children. I finally went to the Doctor to find out Chase has strep, Scott has a sinus infection, and I have a sinus infection. While we were there the Doctor asked how the girls were doing, I told him fine, and he asked if I wanted to get them tested for strep while we were there, I said no thank-you, they've been bouncing off the walls all day long. I stop by the store on the way home, to pick up 6 bottles of Amoxicillian, and I kid you not, as I was walking in my house from the long ordeal with 4 kids at the Doctors and pharmacy Aspen says..."Mom, I don't feel very good. I'm going to go lay down." 20 minutes later I check on her and she is fevered. I was positive it was strep, so I called the nurse and begged her to just call in another 2 bottles of Amoxicillian and spare me the trip to the doctors, but apparently that is not allowed. So we all got back into the car and headed into the after hours clinic to get Aspen tested for strep. Sure enough it was positive, this time I didn't take any chances and I had Zoe tested while we were there but she was fine...(so I thought.) As we were leaving Zoe asked me to hold her because her tummy was hurting, and seconds after we stepped outside she puked all over me... Oh the Joys of being a Mother! And really where did the stomach flu come from? I thought that was last months bug... Oh well, you gotta love winter! Who's ready for spring!!!

What's it going to be??

We find out the gender of our baby on Wednesday February 10th. So just for fun I took some gender prediction test online today, and the results were very helpful in predicting the gender they said... "Congratulations!! You have a 50% chance of having a Boy, and a 50% chance of having a girl." Amazing Huh!

And Here's Why...
You are carrying the extra weight around the hips and bottom, so it's a girl.
The hair on your legs is not growing any faster during your pregnancy, so it's a girl.
Boys are carried low. You are going to have a boy.
Sleeping in a bed with your pillow to the north indicates that you will be having a boy.
Your feet are not colder than they were before pregnancy. You are having a girl.
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread. You are having a girl.
Dad-to-be is gaining weight right along with Mom-to-be, which means that you'll have a boy.
The maternal grandmother has gray hair, so a boy will be born.
You had morning sickness early in pregnancy, so you are expecting a girl.
Your chest development has been quite dramatic during pregnancy. You should expect a girl.
Since the sum of the mother's age at conception and the number of the month of conception is even, it will be a boy.
Your urine is a bright neon yellow color, so you will have a boy.
You have a craving for salty or sour foods, which means that it is a boy.
Your nose hasn't changed during pregnancy, which indicates a girl.
You have been craving meats or cheeses, so it is a boy.
Your baby's heart rate is 140 or more beats per minute, so it's a girl.
You have no desire for orange juice, so it's a boy.
You are not having headaches, so it's a girl.
Your belly looks like a basketball, so it's a boy.
You show them the palm of your hand, so it's a girl.
You use the body of the mug, so it's a girl.

So Basically I have no Idea. My mothers intuition has never been right before so going off that isn't a very sure way to go, but Matt and the kids are POSITIVE we are having another girl. I am just excited to find out!

So stay Tuned... We find out soon!

P.S. According to the Chinese Calender we are having a Boy! But that has never been right for me, so I guess that could mean I'm having a Girl....
