Pioneer Day Fireworks- Dobron Visit

Dobron's came to town and stayed with us over the 24th.  Dan bought a sweet spread of fireworks for us to light up!  It was awesome!
These were the biggest sparklers I've ever seen!  They were fantastic!  They lasted so long the kids were doing all sorts of cool stuff with them!
We did have a tiny little catastrophe. Matt and Dan were lighting 2 Ariel's at a time and they had them on a table... We're new at this!  Well both of them fell over, in opposite directions while they were going off and started shooting at us and blowing up all over the place.  It was kind of hilarious, hind sight, and 2 people caught it on video.  We are all laying on the grass Oohing and Ahhing and then all the sudden one exploded right by my head.  I got up and took off running.  Since we were putting on such a good show we had quite a few neighbors out watching from their driveways too.  Well imagine their surprise when all of the sudden we are all yelling and screaming, kids are crying, things are exploding, it was insane!  The worst part about the whole thing is that I took off running without any of my kids!  I always thought in the middle of a disaster I would be a protective mother bear type, but apparently not!  I ran off like a little girl and saved myself.  I'm still really shocked and disappointed by that realization!  After I got myself to safety I did instantly wonder where Cooper was... Does that count?  It is definitely one of those situations that you are sick about for a while after just thinking about how much worse it could have been!  We were definitely being watched over! No one was seriously injured, thank heavens!! Which is totally crazy, by the way, because in one of the videos we have of it you seriously see a child running right into an explosion!  Scott and Cole both got little burns.
Our house and blankets took some pretty gnarly hits themselves...
But, after the shock wore off, and after we got some pretty frazzled kids settled down,
we went back out and finished them off and had a lovely time!
This cutie is such a little man...
He managed to get himself across the street during the pandemonium without so much as a scratch or a tear.  And he was eager to get back out there and finish them off.
When it was all over he came up with a new dance and he appropriately calls it his "Firework Dance"!
Happy Pioneer Day!!

Happy Birthday Lola!

We love this little firecracker!  Can't believe she is 5 and starting kindergarten!!  Poor thing has to watch every single person in our family have a birthday before she gets to celebrate hers, which is painful for her, but makes her birthday that much more anticipated and exciting!  We celebrated her Birthday with the Gardner's on the Fourth, which is why she looks kinda crazy :)  It was a long day of one party after another starting at breakfast.
Lynn got her a new backpack for kinder and filled it full of goodies.  Did I mention how crazy it is that she is going to school... Ahhhhh!
Lynn got all the girls a new backpack for their birthdays, but they didn't arrive in time for Aspen and Zoe's party so they got a little present too.  Fun!
For her birthday date she wanted to go with Liam and play Laser Tag!  These two were adorable!
We were having a lot of fun while we waited for our turn to play laser tag.  Matt made up a story about how Lola and Liam were really Martians that we stole from Mars.  It was a pretty wild story.  They were laughing the whole time and got pretty into it talking about what they were going to do to the martians when they came back to get them and take them back to Mars.  Little did we know Liam was really nervous inside and might have cried about it later when Teresa asked him if he was a martian... Ooops!
After laser tag we took them to Macey's to get a baby cone!
By this time they were in a super silly mood!  They giggled the whole time, and took a seriously long time to finish their ice cream!
Happy Birthday Cutie!  We love you!
