My Parents threw their annual party last weekend and it was a blast! A perfect kick-off to the month of October, it really put me in the Halloween mood! :) They changed it up a little bit this year, each family was in charge of a game. My family did a "Cookie Walk". I have gotten better over the years at letting my kids help me with things. It is sometimes hard for me because I have pictured it a certain way in my head. But my kids took full ownership of making this game. They made all the little signs for people to step on, as well as decorated all the cookies.

I had to fore go a theme this year, which was hard for me too! I love picking my kids costumes, and having us all match. This year I really wanted to do "How to train your Dragon" and be Vikings and Dragons but a few people (Matt and Chase... :) were not crazy about that idea. (So Vikings wear skirts and Dragon costumes are made of Spandex, big deal, they would both look great in either of those...) Anyway, we went our separate ways this year. But it was still fun.
Paisley was killing me in this costume! I could not get enough of her.

I Love that Lola is one of the superheros in this picture! She was really hoping to be Spiderman, but when we couldn't find one her size she settled for Iron man. When she told me she wanted to be Spiderman, I showed her a cute Spider-girl costume online that was a dress and leggings and she was like "What the Heck! Spiderman is a boy, he doesn't wear dresses!" So we went for the real deal.
My parents have a costume hook-up, so they have had some pretty sweet costumes the last couple years! This year they were Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy
Ryan and Shantelles game was "Pin the nose on the Pumpkin". It was funny watching the kids stumbling around with their blind folds on!
Cooper found himself a cookie and took a seat on the hearth to take care of it.

Matt and I are Waldo and Wenda this year, but Matt's hadn't made it through the mail yet, so I am a lonely lost Wenda.
Teresa and Kris did "Bobbing for Apples". This was a first for all my kids. Not a single one of them was able to get the apple with their teeth, so they have been begging me to do it again at our own little family party so they can have another shot at it.
Poor Aspen didn't ever get a real turn at this game. Once Cooper saw the giant orange ball he claimed it for the rest of the night.
This pumpkin was impressive, because Coopers was really more of a toss than a bowl and it held up just fine!
My Dad broke us up into groups this year for the scavanger hunt. It was a fun change. It made it more competitive, which BTW my team won! :)
Zoe had a snaggle tooth all night long that finally came out, so she is now very toothless up front, and my wallet is constantly being raided by the tooth fairy!
Ryan was the brave holder of the piniatta.
All the babies loved hitting this thing, but were heart broken when we took their sticks away from them!
