Thanksgiving Break- Cabin Trip

For Thanksgiving we spent most of the week at this amazing cabin in Midway with my family.  It was so much fun! We had a wonderful thanksgiving feast, watched some movies, played some games, played racquetball, roller-bladed in the huge underground garage, and...




  last but definitely most of all... We swam! The kids would wake up, get in their swim suits, and wait by the door to the pool until an adult would come in with them so they could swim.

The pool was so warm so the kids were happy in there for hours!

 

Josh was playing a game with the kids.  I don't know exactly what it was, I only know they attacked him for a long time!  He was a great sport!  It was probably the most fun the kids had in the pool the whole time we were there.

He is totally underneath that huge pile of children!!

Swimming, swimming, and more swimming!! When we got home their skin felt like alligators and their hair was GREEN, but it was amazing!

Cornbellies

I love Cornbellies!  I forgot to bring my camera, so the only pictures I have are the ones I stole off Teresa's blog, but we went and had a great time!  I didn't lose any of my kids this year, which is a first, and a huge plus I might add! And my kids were happy in the corn pit for SO LONG! Which was delightful because I could sit and relax and talk with my family!! We did, however, find corn EVERYWHERE for the next week, but that's okay.  All in the name of fun right!? Cooper still talks about Cornbellies (and I am writing about this in January) and asks if he can go on a date there someday so he can "bounce on the bouncies!"

Gardner Halloween Party

Since Halloween was on a Saturday this year, we did our Party with Gardners on Halloween. We went up in the afternoon to carve pumpkins. There were some really cool pumpkins this year!  I am getting super lazy at taking pictures, so I don't have anything to prove that, you'll just have to take my word for it! 

After carving pumpkins we ate some dinner and then the kids went trick-or-treating. It is nice that there are big kids to help with this part!  Everyone was running around for hours while we stayed at Grandma's and chatted.

Chase had a soccer game (which he was less than thrilled about!) so he missed the pumpkin carving portion of the night, but he made it back in time for trick-or-treating.  I love his Jo Dirt costume!

Will and I went for a walk to see the neighbors spider.  This thing is disgusting!

Matt made a delicious cheesecake, to go along with the loads of candy everyone would be eating! Thanks Matt...

And I do mean LOADS of candy!  Because the kids can trick or treat on their own they go for hours and come home with SO MUCH CANDY!! This part of Halloween is the worst - In my opinion! I love everything else! The month of parties is great, and dressing up is always fun, but the aftermath of kids eating straight candy for so many days is horrible!  It wasn't so bad when my kids were young and everyone just gave me their candy to stick in a big communal bowl that was in my command, but once my kids were not cool with that anymore it changed things. I usually let my kids go to town for a few days and then I buy their candy off them. This year, everyone sold me their candy on Monday, and after them seriously stuffing themselves for 2 days we still had 17lbs of candy to sell me (we weighed it on my scale...) Ugh!

We put Will to bed while the kids were trick-or-treating.  I love sleepy little babies!
