30th Annual Thompson Family Halloween Party...

My parents have thrown a Halloween party every year they have been married, so even though they are not here this year we had to keep with tradition. We tried to do it exactly like they would have done it, complete with soup in pumpkin bread bowls, a scavenger hunt ( a must), and a pinata. It definitely wasn't the same with out them (or without Ryan and family, in VA and Erin in Italy) but we did manage to have a great time. If you can't tell what our theme is this year we are all Disney Movie Villains....We have Cruella De' Ville and Captain Hook (Wow who knew these two would make such a LOVELY couple?)Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty...Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland...Shir Khan from Jungle Book...And Hates from Hercules (Doesn't he look just like him, the Toga, the blue hair ) Okay actually Chase and I compromised, Halloween for Chase is all about the Blood and Guts, and sure as heck better be scary. So since Hates is the Greek version of the Grim Reaper, this is what we came

up with.

Zorro and ElainaBat Girl, A Bumblebee, and 2 adorable Hippies (doesn't Teresa make the cutest little Pregnant Hippie you've ever seen!)We played a new game this year, that I think is going to become a tradition. It's called Twisted (AKA Twister) It was hysterical, we had poor Teresa practically doing the splits which aren't easy to do at all but especially when 8 months pregnant.We even made a potion, which the kids thought was Awesome! Scott kept saying "Ewwww" And trying to touch it.A Big Thank you to my parents who surprised the kids with a pinata. It was a hugs hit. Demzi was Hilarious with it, she was yelling at it and growling as she would try to hit it.

So Naughty, but So Nice

Scott is the cutest/craziest little guy, I am so in Love with him. He is at that stage where everything he does, even the naughty stuff is just adorable. Nothing in my house is safe from him, he can get into anything. If it is up high, he finds a way, a chair, some drawers you name it. Here are just a few times that I caught him in the act of doing something naughty, ( notice a lot of these pictures were taken on the same day). A big part of what I do every day includes saving him, or saving my house from him, but look how happy it makes him!

Rummaging through the car for gum...Hopping on the counter for a cracker...Climbing on the kitchen set, just for fun...Getting on my dresser for a pencil...Getting into the camera bag...Just being silly...P.S. Don't you love his HUGE OPEN MOUTH SMILE!!! He has always smiled like that. I Love it, you can't help but smile right back.

Pumpkin Carving...

We grew some pumpkins in our garden this year. We were so excited to go pick them so we could carve them for Halloween. We picked them over Conference weekend, and let the kids paint them during conference, but when it came time to carve them they were not looking so good anymore. So we ended up buying these big ones at Macy's.

Kindergarten Feild Trip...

I am Aspens "Room Mom" this year so I got to go on her first school Field Trip with her. She was so excited that I was coming, and that I was even going to ride the bus with her. They went to Hee Haws, and the kids had a blast! Talk about Chaos... They took all 6 kindergarten classes at the same time, That's 180 5 year olds!Aspen's friend Bryce was in my little group and she thought it was so funny when the teacher told the kids to get a good look at their chaperon so that they wouldn't forget what they looked like. She's like..."Of course I'm not going to forget what she looks like, and by the way her name is Alicia not Mrs. Gardner."They have this little petting Zoo, which was hysterical. The kids would get in there and just chase these poor chickens all over the place. I'm not kidding these chickens were squawking like crazy and running for their lives. Bryce was able to catch this one she told us that the trick to catching one was to find a baby chick because "they were very calm and quiet and would not try to peck your eyes out"

San Diego

Matt and I had some frequent flyer's to use up and a couple of free hotel stays so we took a little weekend trip down to San Diego. It was so nice, we didn't go with any sort of agenda just merely to relax, and we did. The first day there we took a Ferry over to Coronado, rented bikes and road them all over the Island. Then we did some window shopping and ate some yummy food. On the way back to our hotel we took a cab and our driver had no idea where he was going so he drove us all over the place, while he was driving Matt noticed he had a cash only sign up which was a small problem since we didn't have any cash on us so he took us to a gas station where we filled his car up with gas, and then eventually made it to our hotel. It was an adventure!

On Saturday we were so lazy... We read by the pool then jumped in and swam, went jogging, watched a movie, got some dinner, watched another movie... It was awesome.

Chase the Politician...

Chase came home from school yesterday and told me he wrote a letter to the president. I figured it was probably a school assignment, he said it wasn't he just did it in his free time. I asked if they had been talking about the President, and he said they hadn't. I was kind of curious because Matt and I are not into politics, I know we should be but we just aren't. So I wondered where he was getting his information from. Anyway, his letter made me laugh it said...

Dear President,

I wish you were John Mccain, but oh well. At least you changed America when you became the first black president, that's good. Please change the law and let us keep our guns. And please give the schools more money, and get us above average.
